Today we went to auction and bought a house. The vendors were thrilled and offered us champagne. I was very emotional. Ela slept in the car through the whole lot. M was triumphant - good bidding technique paid off in the end. Happiest of all was probably the agent - George - who earned himself a nice big commission.
The neighbours came to pat us on the back. The bagpiper strolled off and we signed on the dotted line.
It is a two bedroom - original 50's brick bungalow on a 700sqm block. 'Original' bathroom and kitchen - with toilet in the laundry.
So plenty of potential. 6 weeks till settlement and a further 4 till we move in. Let's see if we can rise to the challenge.
